What to Expect from a Manta Ray Encounter

Manta rays in Yucatan are filter feeders — completely harmless. When encountered, they often circle slowly near the surface or glide along reef edges. The key is to enter the water slowly, avoid sudden movements, and let them approach naturally. Never chase or touch a manta ray. Their wingspan can reach 5+ meters, making every sighting breathtaking.
